I still buy DVDs on Movies and TV series but I'm always looking for bargains. Now I can pick up a Movie between $5 – $12 CA – the new movie prices are too much from $24 to $32CA; I will wait until they go down.
I could count on one hand the number of DVDs I have bought over the years, but then I rarely watch television or films. I think I now own one DVD and that's "Oliver" starring Mark Lester, Ron Moody, Oliver Reed and Jack Wild. I watch it at Christmas :)
However, there some DVDs I would like and those are the Aly Bain Transatlantic Sessions but at around £19 (
$35.8540CA) these will have to go on my Christmas wish list.
I still buy DVDs for the occasional highly rated film but only after they have been in release for an extended period of time and the price has been reduced. I'm not a TV fan so stay away from "TV Series" sets.
I think DVDs will be around for awhile yet. The technology is sound, required equipment is cheap and most everyone has a television for playback. Blu-Ray requires some expensive equipment to actually see a difference in the picture quality and I'm not prepared to lay out that kind of cash :-)
I still buy DVDs on exercise and classic movies but the price has to be right. I recently purchased "Breakfast at Tiffany's" at a used bookstore. Looking forward to watching it again. I rarely watch TV these days.
I used to have hundreds and hundreds and very seldom watched them, so I learned not to bother buying any more. Just rent. Haven't bought a DVD in many years. But I still love movies!
I don''t buy many any more...unless there is a really good sale on a disk that want. I've found that my library network has many dvd's now available for borrowing...for a week at a time. I'm good with that.
DVDs are going the way of the beta tapes. Progress marches on!
